Wonderful Weekend
This past weekend was one of the best weekends that I have had here at school so far!
Friday's weather was beautiful. The temperature was in the low 60's and perfect for a button-up shirt, skinny jeans, and Sperrys! After class, my classmate and I had lunch at Panera before we went to our department open houses. For the Administration of Justice open house, the advisor had two special guest presentations. One man was from the FBI and the other is the former superintendent of the juvenile system in Rhode Island. After this, I am pretty sure that I want to work with in the juvenile justice system. It will be so interesting and more importantly, so rewarding! That night, I went to see The Blind Side with a couple of friends and it was the cutest movie I have ever seen. I don't think my heart ever stopped melting during the whole two+ hours of it. I am definitely seeing it again very soon!
Saturday marked the first day of spring and I was SO excited! I put on a long-sleeved white v-neck and my new, pink chino shorts from J.Crew, and my new navy blue flip flops with pink and purple flowers, also from J.Crew. To top off the very spring-y outfit, I donned a side ponytail with a pink flower hair clip (guess where it's from) that perfectly matched my shorts. After breakfast, my friends and I spent the day at the beach! We walked on the Cliff Walk down to First Beach, and we clearly were not the only ones who decided it was the perfect day for the beach. There were so many people, children, and dogs! We attempted to do some homework, but we ended up just taking in the wonderful warm weather and looking at the waves. At one point, the most adorable puppy named Molly came over to where we were and laid down so we could rub her belly, as if she hadn't had a care in the world. It was so funny and so cute!

Yesterday, my best friend and I woke up extremely early to go into Boston to see the Blue Man Group! It was the first time for the both of us and we were very excited. We left Salve at 8 AM and got to Boston around 10 AM. The show didn't start until 2 so they said we could explore until 1:30. My friend and I ended up taking the T to the Prudential Center to meet her twin sister/another one of my bests (who goes to MassArt) for lunch. We went to California Pizza Kitchen, my favorite restaurant! After lunch, we hopped on the T to go back to the theater and went to the show.
If you haven't been to a Blue Man Group show yet, I suggest going in the near future! It was energetic, exciting, and funny at the same time. We were sitting in the first and second rows and had to wear ponchos in case the paint or other unidentifiable objects got onto us. The show was about an hour and forty minutes and I absolutely enjoyed it. I hope to go again sometime in the future with my family!
After this great weekend though, the rain decided to show up again. It's such a disappointment. Oh well, it can rain all week for all I care, because Easter break is less than ten days away and I cannot wait!!

Another season of outdoor track has started at my high school and I am very sad that I will no longer be competing (although I'll be living vicariously through my friends who are still on the team!). However, I am starting my aerobic exercise class tonight. I'm actually nervous for it, but I'm very relieved that I will be getting some exercise, because I am NOT the type of person who would just wake up and head to the gym. I also plan on running every day of the week (in lieu of track) besides Tuesdays and Thursdays... if only this rain would let up! I'm so looking forward to getting back into shape... just in time for summer!

Spring Break!
Spring Break should've been called Shopping Break. I have gone shopping more this week than since school started.
So far, I've had the opportunity to do a lot of shopping. Last Friday, two of my friends and I went into Boston where one of my friend's mom was at a conference for work. We checked her into the Taj hotel and then we went shopping on Newbury Street, one of my favorite places to shop! For dinner, we went to an Italian restaurant a few blocks down from the hotel called Da Vinci's. It was super fancy and the food was delicious. Afterwards, we headed down the street to a fabulous dessert place called Finale. Although I was already stuffed, I just had to make an exception! Since I gave up all sweets for Lent, I ordered a serving of strawberry sorbet in a pastry bowl with fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, mango, pineapple, and cantaloupe on the side. It was absolutely divine! What I would give to eat that again...
Over the weekend, I went to the South Shore Plaza where I was able to purchase that sundress that I talked about in my last post and a couple of cute summery shirts. I also went to the Natick Collection (the nation's twelfth biggest mall) on Sunday. I got new makeup from Sephora, some jewelry cleaner from Tiffany's (thanks to Beantown Prepster for the recommendation!), and more clothes.
The few friends that were home and I met up on Monday for some lunch. It was great to see them again, since it was the first time we were together since winter break! Later that afternoon, my mom and I went to Derby Street and I got a royal blue cardigan from the Gap.
On Tuesday, my dad and I went to the Wrentham district court so I could complete some observation hours for my Judicial System class (we're required to do at least five observation hours in the courts for our research paper), and then he took me to the outlets. I didn't get to spend a lot of time there, but I did get to stop by J.Crew real quick... thank goodness! There were SO many items on sale that were perfect for spring. Pastel cardigans, shift dresses, and chino shorts, oh my! I purchased a pair of 3" pink chino shorts and a matching flower clip. I'm in love with them!
Today, I went to Newbury again with my mom, but rain put a damper on our trip so we had to go home earlier than expected... so sad.
I haven't managed my finances yet since before break... so let's hope my credit cards haven't burned a hole in my wallet yet. This could be ugly...

With new changes come BIG NEWS!
I have always been an advocate of making a difference and helping people out ever since I was in junior high when I was elected as the student council president. In high school, I was class president from sophomore-senior year, secretary of the National Honor Society, student representative on the school council, and the school representative for the southeastern Massachusetts student advisory council. So it was no surprise when I came to Salve and ran for an on-campus senator position on Salve's student government association... and won (toot toot).
Now, I am looking to make a bigger difference, even though I have only been here for six months. Next month, I plan on running for secretary on the executive board of student government. I'm currently a senator on our student government and our treasurer is running for president and has decided to take me under his wing and asked me to join his campaign. Personally, this is a huge deal for me because 1) it was never in my plans to do something this big in my first year 2) I honestly am not aware of the responsibilities that will be given to me if I am elected. However, I have complete faith that he will guide me through this process and help me fulfill my duties. I am very excited to get my name out there on campus and have people know who I am.
I have no idea what's in store for me... but it should be good (hopefully!) In the meantime, all I can do is cross my fingers, keep a smile on my face, and wish for the best!
